MARA essay

Lets I introduce myself. My name is Muhammad Adham Bin Azlan Hadi Tan and just finished my school lesson at Sekolah Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Pekan. Praise to Allah because I got a likely good result. Sincerely, I was not expecting with my result that I got as I did not get as many A+s during I was having monthly examinations at school. I kept working hard till the public examination of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) came. I do my best and gratefully, I got what I wanted.

During school time, I am an active student. Even though I have involved with many activities, I still can maintain my momentum in studies. I always become the top student in my previous school although I had to fight with lots of excellent students there. When I was in form four, I was being selected by the school to attend Science, Engineering and Innovation Competition for national level. I had represented my school for this kind of competition in these two years time. I had invented three gadgets which was Cigarette’s Smoke Detector, Bio-coagulant from Hibiscus and Biodegradable Plastic. Gratefully, I got bronze award for the first year and silver award for the next year. I also realized that I am a creative person as I managed to invent or build up the three gadgets successfully. Besides, I had represented my school in Handball competition for district level. Thus, I am not just good in academic but also excel in co-curriculum.

Moreover, I managed to handle many programs inside and outside school. First, I was being sent by the school to primary school all over Pekan, Pahang Darul Makmur. I got a task to give some moral values and knowledge to the students. In fact, they were enjoyed with the activities that I had done. Inside the school, I had handled an event with my housemates and these brushed up my confident, time management and leadership skill. As a result, I became a more discipline man and, be sure, I can work in an organization. In addition, it had improved my communication skill as I had to discuss with the administrators, teachers and school’s staffs about the programs.

Achieving my ambition to be a doctor, I had involved a program, Budding Docs, which was cooperation between my school with International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). I was very impressed and excited because I saw a cadaver by my naked eyes for the fist time. I had a chance to see and learn the part of organs of human in reality. Other than that, I also had given permission to see moving sperms under a microscope at the fertility centre. I deeply thanks to the school, especially biology’s teacher by doing this program.

Proceeding to planning studies, I want to further my tertiary study in Ireland, of course. I already do some research about the university in Ireland and I found that lots of Malaysian’s students that was studying medicine over there. Furthermore, there are many Malay’s people that staying there and this makes me released to stay in other country with different culture and society. I am not telling that I cannot stay in United Kingdom or other than that, but I actually admired to study in Ireland since I was studying in lower secondary school. This hope made me to work hard till I deserve to grab the chance study in Ireland through this scholarship (MARA). Before I get there, for sure, I will follow up the program- International Baccalaureate at Kolej Mara Banting for two years. Then, I hoping that I will do my degree in Ireland. As I come back to Malaysia, I will not end my study with only degree instead I will further to get master and PhD. I choose MARA not JPA or any other scholarships because now they are not sponsoring students to do medicine study in overseas. I desire to keep a dream to study in oversea because I want to open my mind on how other society’s life. I want to learn good thing from them and vice versa. At this time of generation, we, Malaysian people especially me has to grab this chance wisely as it is the way how we want to enhance our country. MARA does not give free loans in return convertible loans as the way to burn up the excellent students’ enthusiasm to maintain our excellence.

Why I am choosing to study medicine course? An answer comes out will definitely because I want to be a doctor. Yes I am. I love to be a doctor because I want to fulfill my noblest intention to assist patients that needed help. Moreover, medicine is one of the most critical courses in Malaysia. People are saying that this study is tough and needs a lot of sacrifices. If not me to take up this challenge, who else? As I read up newspaper recently, it mentioned that ratio of doctors to patients in Malaysia is 1:905. This problem obviously makes the services neither at hospitals nor clinics to become slow motion. Patients need to wait hours of time for their turn and it will bother our country economics. People have to off a day to see doctors whereas it only takes five to ten minutes for medical check up. To be clear, I actually want to be a surgeon that specialized on circulatory system of human. I want to master on that because heart disease is the most dangerous disease that bring people to death. Heart diseases will lead to various kind of other diseases such as hypertension, stoke, heart’s cancer, diabetes and even blood cancer. If I take heart as my major study, I definitely can learn not only heart but also lungs, hormones, blood, muscles and nerves. After I finish my degree, I ready to be sent by government to anywhere as long I can reach my aims to help and give a new lease to the patients.
